I received the following recipe in the latest newsletter from Handmade Soap Coach. Subscribe to receive recipes, workshop information, and more.

GENTLE FACIAL EXFOLIANT – Organic Body Care Recipes by Stephanie Tourles

1/2 cup ground oatmeal
1/4 cup powdered milk whole or nonfat
1 teaspoon cornmeal
Purified water

In a small bowl, thoroughly blend all dry ingredients using a spoon or small whisk, or shake them in a sealed plastic bag.

Pour the mixture into a storage container.

No registration is required for dry ingredients, but for maximum freshness and potency, please use with in 6 months.

TO MIX THE SCRUB FOR USE: In a small bowl combine 1 tablespoon of scrub mixture with enough water to form a spreadable paste. Allow the mixture to thicken for 1 minute.

APPLICATION TIPS: Using your fingers, massage scrub onto the face and throat. Rinse.

Detoxify Your Body In 30 Minutes With A Bath

Health and Health Coverage posted a simple way to detoxify your body in 30 minutes. Simply pour one cup Epsom salts, 1/2 cup Baking Soda, and about 1/2 cup Powdered Ginger into a hot bath & soak for 15 to 20 minutes. After soaking, scrub the skin gently with a natural fiber like a cotton washcloth or a loofah sponge for 5 minutes. Do not remain in the tub for more than 30 minutes.

I found very simple directions for creating a Miso & Honey Body Mask on Craftbits. You simply mix 1 cup Honey and 1/2 cup Brown rice miso to create a paste, then apply it to your body and leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Miso is enriched with amino acids which will nourish the body.
