Soapylove was started in 2006 by Debbie Chialtas. Debbie discovered glycerin soap crafting whilst pregnant with her son. The beautiful colors, designs, and shapes that are possible with “melt and pour” sparked her creative passion. She loved being able to create something super special, completely usable, and totally adorable! ( And she has )

Opening a shop on Etsy to offload some of the heaps of soaps she was making. To her delight, Soapylove was a hit! Soapyloves Soapy Pops were featured on the Etsy homepage quite a few times resulting in wholesale inquiries.

Soapylove has since grown quite a bit You can now find Soapy Pops in stores all over the world and they are still made completely by hand in San Diego, with the best ingredients.

In addition to offering her collection of Soapy Pops, Debbie also LOVES to teach others how to make glycerin soaps. Haydria offers eight fragrances in solid perfume compacts, brass perfume lockets, and atomizers that are sure to add beauty to your vanity table. The solid perfume comes in such lovely shapes as a jeweled peacock and a Yorkie!

Haydria learned perfumery in France under the instruction of master perfumer Jacques Maurel of Galimard Perfumery.

HMSG certification scholarships

Southern Soapers is offering four Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild Certification Scholarships for 2009. Each Scholarship will cover the registration costs associated with taking the three tests for one Certification track. There are two testing tracks: Cold Process/Hot Process (CP/HP) and Melt and Pour (MP). Each track has three levels of testing: Basic, Advanced, and Master. The exams are offered only to HSMG members and are voluntary. Full details on the Certification Program, how to access study materials, and where to test are located at the following website: http://www.soapguild.org/member/certification-overview.php.

Any Handcrafted Soap Makers Guild member can apply for one of the four (4) Certification Scholarships by contacting the HSMG for an application. Applications will be available online shortly by Dec 31, 2008. Deadline for applying is Feb 15, 2009. For more information, please visit here.
