Check out this Melt & Pour Valentines Day Project that is based on small moulded pieces of soap that are floated in a larger bar of soap. This technique is known as “embeds” I LOVE these soaps seriously anyone can make these check out the step by step tutorial complete with pictures I found via David Fisher on About.com

For this project you will need

Some clear and white melt and pour soap base
Fragrance or essential oil (if desired)
Red soap colorant
A rubber “heart” ice-cube tray
Heart shaped cookie cutter
Rubbing Alcohol in spray bottle
Basic setup for Melt and Pour Soap Making

DIY Pink Sparkle Snowflake Soap

Another pink pretty from How Do I make Soaps page. You don’t have to keep it pink either, play around with the colours a bit. I do like this though. To get started you will need the following.

Supplies Needed:

1. Snowflake Clamshell molds

2. 1 pound of clear melt and pour soap base

3. 5 oz white melt and pour soap base

4. Tropical Red Colorant

5. Micro Sparkle Soap Glitter

6. 3/4 oz Creamy Pomegranate Fragrance Oil

6. Microwavable measuring cup

7. Fork

8. Small amount of rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle

15 drops of Tropical Red Colorant

1 pound of Shea Butter Soap Base (or you can use any white soap base)

1/2 ounce Creamy Peppermint fragrance oil

1 tablespoon of white micro-glitter

Small amount of rubbing alcohol in a small spray bottle

Small fork

Microwavable measuring cup

Want to kill a few birds with one stone . Why not decorate your tree with some DIY melt and pour christmas ornaments this year. Not only do they look pretty but they can also add fragrance to the home if you add a christmassy scent. They also add a personal touch to the big day. I know you are thinking it’s not the same as traditional decorations but I like the concept. So go on try something different, ditch the lights and have a crack at decorating your tree. Looks pretty, smells divine as well as serving a purpose. Your guests will all have a tiny keepsake to remember the big day by.

YOU WILL NEED

Melt & Pour soap base

Lab Color soap colorant

Cranberry Fig fragrance (or another equally holiday fragrance)

Christmas Ornament or Snow Flake Mold

Ribbon or String

To decorate this soap
Hairspray

Glitter (must be skin-safe if you want to be able to use the soap so no rubber stamp project glitter)

DIY Lego Soap – Great Christmas Gift Idea

Christmas soap does not necessarily have to be about snowmen and candycanes. Kids love Lego with so why not make some lego soap to go in their stocking too!!! These are cool I bet there will be no problem getting kids to wash up before it’s time to sit down to turkey on the big day. Obviously not for eating be sure to write “not for human consumption” on the label somewhere because if I was a kid I would most definitely pop one of these in my mouth!!! Step it up a notch and add cranberry or peppermint scents to make it smell christmassy

YOU WILL NEED

Silicone Lego ice cube trays – The Lego Minifigure Ice Cube Tray is available online and at Lego stores.
The Lego Ice Bricks Tray appears to only be available online currently.
Clear glycerin soap base
Serrated knife
Pyrex measuring cup or other microwave safe vessel with a spout
Red, yellow and blue coloring for soap
Fragrance for soap (optional)
Alcohol in a spray bottle

I found this easy DIY tutorial on how to make a Candy Cane Swirl Loaf all of your very own this christmas via Go Planet Earth. Made from Melt and Pour Soap you can use any colour you like in the insert. For this recipe however GPE have gone with Tomato Red scented with Christmas Garland . DIY Melt & Pour Snowflake Soap Christmas Project

Loving all the Melt and Pour soap projects about the place these days. I am a huge fan of Soap Queen. I blogged about her Melt and Pour Christmas Ornaments yesterday so today I am going to share with you a DIY snowflake soap project using melt and pour soap too.

YOU WILL NEED

• Snowflake 5 piece cookie cutter set
• 2-3 oz Bramble Berry white soap base
• 17 oz Bramble Berry clear soap base
• Super Pearly White Mica
• Shredded Iridescent Glitter
• Liquid Blue – non bleeding
• Fragrance of your choice – Soap Queen used Bramble Berry’s Santa’s Spruce for this one.
• 2 cup capacity containers or glass microwave safe measuring cup
• 1 cup capacity pyrex containers or glass microwave safe measuring cup
(if you have two, 2 cup capacity pyrex containers that will work just fine!)
• 8 in. x 8 in. Glossy Silicone Square mold
• Scale that weighs to a tenth of an ounce
• Clean cutting surface
• 2 Plastic droppers – one for fragrance, one for soap
• 1/4 Teaspoon measuring spoon
• sprayer with rubbing alcohol
• food thermometer
• cup with just under boiling water
• plastic wrap

Christmas Pudding Soap – Yummo

You have seen the Festive Berry Tart Slice Soap from Platypus Dreams well after many requests for a Christmas Pudding styled in the form of soap, PD decided this year to try them and they are finally here!!!!

Made from their in house cold process goatsmilk soap formula, they are very creamy and moisturising. Each soap looks like it has yummy icing or some style of dessert draped over the top of it, but of course it is only soap. A green gum leaf with red holly berries ( to add contrast ) is piped on top because Platypus Dreams are situated in Australia after all.

This pudding is scented with Cranberries and Pomegranate with notes of sparkling champagne and the lightest hint of spice way in the background. It is one of their in house blends just for Christmas. Each Christmas Pudding Soap has been wrapped with the utmost care by hand and comes with it’s own Festive Christmas style tag and trimmings. These are excellent for the person who has everything or you just don’t know what to give them.

Not forgetting PD have already had some visitors to their workshop who saw these soaps prior to them being shown online. They commented that these would be a great gift for teachers They are available for purchase at $9.50 AUD each here.

You’ve seen the Melt and Pour Christmas Ornaments and Hanging Snowflake by Soap Queen. Here is another I found and had to share I know it’s another snowflake but this time it’s in bar form. Play around with different colours and scents to personalise it.

YOU WILL NEED

Clear M&P soap base

White M&P soap base

Iridescent glitter

Brilliant Blue Lab color

Snowflake soap mold

fragrance (Soap Queen used Fresh Snow)

TOOLS

Microwave safe containers for melting soap
spoon for stirring
spray bottle with rubbing alcohol
M&P tool kits (optional – but they sure make it easier!)
