Pregnant with her first child and seeking out chemical free baby products left BFA Cosmetic Advisory Group committee member & Director of Little Innoscents Antonette Golikidis disappointed. With hard to find, often misleading or overpriced products available on the market, Antonette drew on her studies and experience in health therapies ( Remedial massage & Aromatherapy ) to create her own range that met with her high expectations. Starting in her kitchen Antonette ( after 10 long months of testing and trialling ) formulated a nappy rash cream, massage lotion, massage oil, baby powder, body & hair wash, vapour rub balm and more recently the new addition of organic soap. Little Innoscents was born, chemical free and made from certified organic ingredients Little Innoscents is an Australian brand you can trust. The Little Innoscents range can also successfully treat a wide range of childhood health & skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.
Sent out a Baby Powder, Vapour Rub Balm & Nappy Rash Cream by Little Innoscents publicist Alina Derevyanko ( Thankyou for your patience Alina ) to review. I was excited to have my boys try these out. A huge believer in a chemical free EVERYTHING when it comes to the body I am already won over just by reading the ingredients. No nasty chemicals or clever marketing happening with these products, just good old fashioned honesty. I will start with the Vapour Rub Balm .
This luscious balm is made with warming Wintergreen, fresh Peppermint, zesty Lemon and fiesty Eucalyptus and it warms away those winter blues just beautifully. Is it wrong to want to eat your chest rub? it smells delicious. This non greasy chest rub helped poor Len ( who eventually got sick ) breathe easier he was coughing and quite unsettled. After a bath I rubbed some on his chest, back and bottom of feet before rugging him up and putting him to bed for the night. The coughing decreased and he seemed more settled than the previous night. Liking the smell he let me know it was “mmm nice” as I rubbed it on. It did not stain clothes, leave him with a rash or appear to harsh on the vapour/fume front. I cannot stand Vicks I think it is too much when it comes to children. Only needing a moderate amount to get the job done not only are you giving your kids some relief from feeling unwell but the chemical free base is quite moisturising for their skin. I highly recommend having a tub of this in the house ready for winter chills.
The Baby Powder Fresh, sweet and delicious to use on your bub. 100% Talc Free, made from Kaolin with lavender & spearmint essential oils, smells divine and works efficiently to soothe irritations and absorb excess moisture. The only thing I am not sure of is applying it to a major dose of nappy rash, Len had one very bad case after eating alot of fruit and when I put it on he told me he was sore of course it could be because he has a very sore bottom from fruit acids and not from the powder but just to be safe I only used the nappy rash cream which cleared it up over the next day or so. Again no staining of Lens clothes no coughing as it does not go up into the air creating a powder cloud. I love the cute blue packaging too.
The multi purpose nappy rash cream has a lovely easily absorbed creamy texture to it. Under 3% essential oils makes it suitable for newborns ( 6 weeks & onwards is my personal opinion ) With avocado oil, lavender essential oil & calendula extracts this in itself is a great combination for alleviating skin irritations. The 100% natural preservative which you can smell ( vanilla/almondish scent ) leaves me salivating. I could think of nothing better than cuddling a little one who smells of this cream. Not only would they be happy & rash free but they would smell divine with super soft skin. I would much prefer this for my children ( all natural ) than some of the other products out there ahem *cough J&J ( did I just say that out loud )
We, (meaning us mothers) need to take a more active stance in what we put on and in our childrens bodies. We know that there are bad things out there we are exposed to them daily. A tip I tell all my friends when choosing products is if it has more than 10 ingredients and some of them you cannot pronounce chances are it’s no good for you. Read it for yourself I know what each and every ingredients is in ALL of their products . Big thumbs up Little Innoscents keep up the good work !!!!!!
