However, there are simple and effective alternatives you can make at home using natural ingredients. In this article, we’ll share five DIY cleaning recipes that are easy to make and will leave your home smelling amazing.

  1. All-Purpose Cleaner

This all-purpose cleaner is a versatile solution that can be used on a variety of surfaces, including countertops, cabinets, and appliances. It’s made with just three simple ingredients and is effective at removing grease and grime.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 10-15 drops of essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a spray bottle, combine the water and white vinegar.
  2. If desired, add in 10-15 drops of essential oil for fragrance.
  3. Shake well and use as needed.
  4. Glass Cleaner

This recipe is perfect for cleaning mirrors, windows, and other glass surfaces. The vinegar and cornstarch work together to remove dirt and grime, leaving a streak-free shine.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups water
  • 10-15 drops of essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a spray bottle, combine the white vinegar, cornstarch, and water.
  2. If desired, add in 10-15 drops of essential oil for fragrance.
  3. Shake well and use as needed.
  4. Carpet Freshener

This recipe is great for removing odors and leaving your carpets smelling fresh. Simply sprinkle it on your carpets, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and then vacuum it up.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 10-15 drops of essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda and essential oil.
  2. Stir until well blended.
  3. Sprinkle the mixture on your carpets, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and then vacuum it up.
  4. Toilet Bowl Cleaner

This recipe is perfect for removing stubborn stains and deodorizing your toilet bowl. Simply drop a toilet bomb into the bowl and let it fizz away.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 10-15 drops of essential oil (optional)
  • Spray bottle filled with water

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking soda, citric acid, and cornstarch. Stir until well blended.
  2. If desired, add in 10-15 drops of essential oil for fragrance.
  3. Slowly add water to the mixture using a spray bottle, stirring as you go. You want to add just enough water to form a dough-like consistency.
  4. Once the mixture is well combined, use your hands to roll it into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  5. Allow the toilet bombs to dry overnight.
  6. Once dry, place one in your toilet bowl, and the fizzy action will start as soon as it comes in contact with water, cleaning your toilet bowl.
  7. Furniture Polish

This recipe is great for restoring shine to wood furniture and protecting it from scratches. Simply apply a small amount of the mixture to a soft cloth and wipe down your furniture.
