Great Cakes Soapworks recently blogged about a Homemade Laundry Detergent Recipe. She suggests using a recipe found at Modern Cottage, but replace the Fels-Naptha soap with some Great Cakes Soapworks Old-Fashioned Orange Essence Lye Soap.

I’m testing this out on my own family right now! I’ve done three loads with the homemade detergent using the Old-Fashioned Lye Soap with Orange Essence. The clothes seem softer already!
