Easy DIY Solid Shampoo Soap Bar

June 14, 2018 by Shellie Wilson 1 Comment

This solid shampoo soap bar is the easiest recipe around. If you are not into soap making from scratch (lye) then this melt and pour version is so easy and simple to make. You will be able to make your own solid shampoo soap bat in a matter of hours. These DIY shampoo soap bars are very popular right now and are a great gift idea. Think how much packaging you will save by not buying store bought plastic shampoo bottles.

This DIY shampoo bar contains Calendula flower petals but it is an optional ingredient. You can add it to the mix or sprinkle it on top of the soap at the end of the pouring process.

Ingredients

1 lbs Organic Goat’s Milk Glycerin Melt & Pour Soap Base

1 tsp coconut oil makes a nice hard bar

2 tsp Castor or Olive Oil, which has wonderful moisturizing properties

20 drops of 100% lavender essential oil or other (see oil options list below)

A double boiler or microwave method.

2 tbs calendula flowers or dried lavender flowers.

Soap Mold

How to make your DIY Melt and Pour Shampoo Bars

Take your soap base and melt on low heat in a double boiler method or in 30-second increments in the microwave.
Once melted add in the coconut oil and stir well.
Mix in the remaining oil and essential oils.

Pour in to molds and allow to cool. You can use square containers, loaf tins or even ice cube trays as a mold.

You can pop these Shampoo bars out of the mold in a couple of hours, but I prefer to leave mine overnight.

Gently remove from the mold and air dry for a couple of hours.
