I am not a morning person and it seems I have passed this on to my own children. Thinking about how we need to make changes to our morning routine I went in search of Information and came across this idea. In this article Soccer mom uses music to wake up her children.
Let me start by listing ALL the things I have tried already.
More sleep – One would automatically assume if you sleep more you wake up rested right? Well this doesn’t work for my children and it doesn’t work for me.
Aromatherapy – This is great! I love Aromatherapy oils and I 100% believe it helps me and my children sleep longer and deeper. BUT, we don’t wake up happy and full of energy. DIY Sleep Pillow.
Guided Meditation – This does work but only on some occasions. Usually I fall to sleep before the kids when this is playing and again it doesn’t make us feel more rested.
Relaxation Music – Same thing as above.
Waking gently – I open the curtains to allow in the light, gently wake them and ask them if they would like 5 more minutes sleep. This has been better but one “5 minutes more” has started to turn in to just 5 more and 5 more… Until the “get up now” shouting has to begin.
