10+ DIY Shampoo Recipes (and a few conditioner)

May 17, 2020 by arabella Leave a Comment

Making your own natural shampoo has so many benefits. There are no toxic chemicals, it’s good for you, usually eco-friendly, and a lot cheaper.

However, finding a recipe that suits your hair and your hair goals can be tricky. It normally takes a bit of experimenting to find which products your scalp and roots react well with to produce the results you desire. So, to help you out, we’ve rounded up 10+ make it yourself shampoo recipes, with a few bonus conditioner recipes thrown in too. (links open in a new tab). Before making your own shampoo I highly recommend stripping back the build-up of commercial hair care products with this recipe.

  1. Homemade Shampoo Recipe from Wellness Mama
  2. Moisturizing DIY PH Balanced Shampoo from Pronounce Skincare
  3. Homemade Coconut Shampoo from EatGood4Life
  4. All Natural Homemade Shampoo Recipe from Thank Your Body
  5. Shimmer and Shine Basic Shampoo from Mother Earth Living
  6. All Natural Shampoo from Our Oily House
  7. DIY Shampoo Without Palm Oil from Biome
  8. Natural Homemade Shampoo and Conditioner from Organic Authority
  9. DIY Shampoo and Conditioner from Note To Trash
  10. Basic Homemade Shampoo, Herbal Homemade Shampoo, Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo, Egg Yolk Conditioner + more natural DIY hair treatments from Good Housekeeping

Looking for a herbal shampoo? Check out our DIY recipe for making your own natural herbal shampoo with basic supplies. We also have a herbal conditioner recipe too.  Home-made shampoos and conditioners are a great way to strip back to basics and control what herbs you are putting into your hair shampoo and products. Store-bought herbal shampoo contains lots of numbers and ingredients that as the consumer we know very little about.

Perimenopause Calm Down Coloring Sheets (For When You Want to Scream into a Pillow)

Free Printable Downloads for Women 40+ Navigating the Hormonal Rollercoaster

Let’s be real—there are days when being a woman over 40 feels like riding a hormone-fueled tilt-a-whirl without the safety bar. Welcome to perimenopause, my friends. If you’ve ever found yourself sweating while standing in front of the fridge, crying over a puppy food commercial, or forgetting why you walked into a room (again), you’re in good company.

That’s exactly why I created these Perimenopause Calm Down Coloring Sheets—printable pages made especially for those “I swear if someone breathes near me I’m going to scream” moments.

What Are Calm Down Sheets?

These aren’t your typical mandala coloring pages. Nope. These were lovingly illustrated with women in perimenopause and menopause in mind—think messy buns, mood swings, and a whole lot of caffeine. Each sheet includes relatable cartoons, cheeky quotes, and stress-relieving doodles that are way more satisfying to color than pretending you’re fine.

They’re perfect for:

Rage coloring during a hot flash

Cooling down after snapping at your partner for chewing too loudly

Unwinding with a glass of wine and a pack of colored pencils

Quiet moments when your brain fog lifts just enough to enjoy something creative

Why Coloring Helps During Perimenopause

There’s science behind this, promise. Coloring helps lower cortisol levels, focus your mind, and gently ease anxious thoughts. It’s like a mindfulness practice, but one that doesn’t require Lycra or a meditation app subscription. And let’s be honest—when the world feels a bit much, giving a snarky mug or frazzled cartoon woman a splash of lavender and hot pink is downright cathartic.
