I don’t know who started the whipped body butter movement, I feel like it was Lush that made it popular but either way here are 20 of the best-whipped body butters.

So why do we whip them? Body butters are made blending oils that have been melted down for example Coconut oil and Shea Butter,.  

The process of whipping the oils whilst melted helps them to combine and fuze together to create a light, well-blended soft airy moisturizer that melts (hence the butter) onto your skin.

Working with Shea butter is really easy, but it does go rancid so don’t go crazy and buy the shea butter in bulk (yeah, lesson learned)

Easy DIY Peppermint Body Butter

Sure, here are some tips for making whipped body butter that I’ve learned from my experience:

Choose high-quality ingredients: The quality of ingredients you use will directly affect the final product. Look for organic, unrefined butters and oils. I prefer using shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and jojoba oil for my whipped body butter.

Use a double boiler: To avoid burning your ingredients, use a double boiler. This means placing a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water. This way, the ingredients will melt evenly and slowly without burning.

Let the ingredients cool: After melting your ingredients, let them cool for about 10-15 minutes before whipping. If the ingredients are too hot, they will not whip properly.

Whip with an electric mixer: Use an electric mixer to whip the ingredients until they become light and fluffy. This can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, depending on the ingredients and mixer speed.

Add essential oils: Once the mixture is whipped, add a few drops of essential oils for fragrance. Peppermint oil is perfect for Christmas scents. You can also add other festive scents like cinnamon, clove, or orange.

Store in a jar: Transfer the whipped body butter to a clean, dry jar with a lid. It’s best to store it in a cool, dry place. If the temperature is too warm, the body butter may melt and lose its texture.

Use within 3-6 months: Since homemade whipped body butter does not contain preservatives, it’s best to use it within 3-6 months. Make sure to label your jar with the date it was made so you can keep track.
