Full Moon in January Bath Spell: Reflect, Release, Realign

January 5, 2026 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

A Witch’s Ritual to Cleanse, Refocus, and Reignite During the First Full Moon of the Year

The first full moon of the year holds powerful magic. It’s a lunar spotlight shining on your soul, asking: What will you carry forward, and what must you let go? In witchcraft, the January full moon—also called the Wolf Moon—is ideal for deep reflection, emotional release, and spiritual recalibration after the chaos of the holidays and the buzz of New Year resolutions.

If you’re craving clarity, peace, or a renewed sense of direction, this Full Moon Bath Spell will help you reconnect to your intuition and wash away what no longer aligns. With every ripple in the water, you’ll feel more anchored in your path—and ready to walk it with purpose.

 Purpose:

To reflect on your inner landscape, release lingering energetic blocks, and realign with your true path using full moon energy and water magick.

Perfect for:

  • January full moon (or any winter full moon)
  • Lunar New Year preparation
  • Post-holiday energetic reset
  • End-of-month soul check-in

 Scent & Energy Meaning:

  • Lavender Oil: Emotional healing, clarity, peace
  • Frankincense Oil: Connection to spirit, sacred awareness, truth
  • Peppermint Oil: Focus, clearing mental fog, energizing

 Color & Ingredient Symbolism:

  • Epsom Salt: Physical and energetic detox
  • White or Silver Mica: Reflective lunar energy, spiritual cleansing
  • Chamomile: Soothing, inner wisdom
  • Jasmine Flowers (optional): Lunar alignment, psychic connection
  • Clear Quartz (optional): Amplifies reflection and intention
  • Silver candle or moon-shaped object: Represents the moon goddess or lunar energy

 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ½ cup citric acid
  • ½ cup Epsom salt
  • 1 tbsp dried chamomile flowers
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops frankincense oil
  • 3 drops peppermint oil
  • ½ tsp white or silver mica (optional)
  • 1 tsp melted coconut oil (optional for skin)
  • Witch hazel in spray bottle
  • Optional: clear quartz crystal or moonstone chip

How to Make the Bath Bomb:

  1. In a large bowl, combine baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salt, and chamomile.
  2. In a separate cup, blend essential oils with coconut oil if using.
  3. Add oils to the dry mix, then stir in mica if desired.
  4. Spritz slowly with witch hazel, stirring until the mixture resembles damp sand.
  5. Pack tightly into molds. Insert crystal in the center if using.
  6. Let dry for 24–36 hours, then store in a glass jar or wrap in wax paper.

Ritual Instructions – Full Moon Bath Spell

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 Full Moon Bath Bomb
  • 1 silver, white, or light-blue candle
  • Your journal + pen
  • Optional: Moon water or a photo of the moon on your altar

Full Moon Bath Spell – Step-by-Step

  1. Cleanse your space using sound, smoke (like white sage or cedar), or moon water.
  2. Light your candle and set it near your bath or mirror.
  3. Drop the bath bomb into your filled tub and speak:

“Under the full moon’s glow, I see myself clearly. I release what dims my light.”

  4. Step into the bath and allow yourself to relax completely.
  5. Reflect:
    • What patterns did I repeat last year?
    • What blocks am I ready to let go of?
    • Where am I being called next?
  6. Optional: hold your crystal and speak your intention for the month or year.
  7. When ready, unplug the bath and imagine everything you’re releasing spiraling down the drain.

 After-Bath Reflection

Wrap yourself in your coziest robe or towel. Sit down with your journal and write about:

  • What came up during your soak
  • Your intuitive insights
  • Your chosen word or symbol for the year ahead

This bath spell isn’t about performance—it’s about sacred stillness. Let yourself feel nourished, restored, and guided as you walk into the year with lunar light behind you.

The Full Moon in January Bath Spell is a beautiful way to align with your inner truth while the year is still fresh. It’s not about changing who you are—it’s about remembering who you are and giving her the space to breathe, expand, and be seen.

As the Wolf Moon howls, take this ritual as a call to pause, release, and realign with your higher path.
