A girls night out is what exactly?
According to Wikipedia (yes I actually looked it up)
A ‘girls’ night out’ is a gender-exclusive activity where women meet to engage in social activities.
Is it selfish to take time away from the kids or is it merely medicinal ? Let’s face it without time away from our kids once in a whilst it is possible we will go crazy right?
So how often do you do this? I personally probably only go out every 6 months or longer for a girls “night” out and I have only ever stayed away for one night and that was traumatic enough. (for me not the kids)
We as woman are always told we need to take time for ourselves. We are told how taking “me “time will help us be a better parent and wife etc. But does it make you feel better?
I often put so much pressure on myself to enjoy the evening and unwind that I feel disappointed the next day as I generally still feel tired (if not more tired) and the kids still need to be nagged about chores so what was the point?
I think I prefer my Girls night out, actually in and probably alone and probably asleep, how about you?
Here is a nice article on Girls Night Outs by Liz Fenton.
