Review – Baby Butz 100% Natural Cream

January 22, 2015 by Shellie Wilson 13 Comments

product1

We were invited to review this Baby Butz cream but unless I can convince my aching body, leaking bladder and overworked husband that having another child is a good idea then there are no butz in this house younger than 5. However we do have a few different skin issues especially with my youngest who appears to be more like mummy when it comes to allergies than the poor little boy should be.

They day this cream arrived by daughter decided she had to use it straight away. Now in the past few weeks my daughters hands have become dry, but not dry from lack of moisture. You she Santa brought her a jar of body whip  and  she has been putting  it on daily , in fact she has been putting it on so much (cheap moisturizer it smells like strawberries and chemicals) that I have started to become concerned with just how often she “needs” to have it on. (Keeping my eye on this).

To cut a long story short-  she likes putting on creams and has even been putting cream behind my ears daily (apparently I can’t reach) since I broke out in a rash from a new pair of sunglasses I got for Christmas (damn Santa was harsh to us).  Armed with her new cream she went around the house looking for patients to cure. First she popped it onto her brother who had a mosquito bite on his wrist that had flared up to the size of a large grape.  Within 30 mins it had gone after applying the cream.  Next patient was her father who’s ethnic skin was fondly known to resemble Crocodile scales. The cream is very thick so he may have been over treated as he came out of his office with legs and elbows as white as , well as white as mine.

So what makes it so special? Well I wish I could provide you with a long list of ingredients that make it wonderful but it actually only has 4, yes just 4 natural ingredients.  Zinc, lanolin, petrolatum and starch.

So basically we really loved the cream and it will be staying in our medical kit should any chaffing or bites or cracked skin comes our way.

RRP $7.99

We loved it so much that we are going to share the love and give away 1 jar to 1 lucky reader. For your chance to win simply tell us why your butz need this and which country you are from in a comment below.

Competition closes on the 1st of February.

Open Worldwide.

For years, I have been battling with dry skin on my hands. It gets so dry, that the skin around my nails begins to split, and it gets very painful. No matter what I use, it never helps, and the vicious cycle continues. Sometimes it does the same thing on my feet as well. Hopefully this can help me. I’m at my wits’ end!! I live in the US.

We heat with wood which tends to dry my skin. I am also older and have the issue of cracked heels. I like the idea that this is a cream and not a lotion and only contains 4 ingredients. Way to go. I am in the USA

DIY Herbal Vapor Rub Balm – A Natural Vicks-Style Decongestant for Cold and Flu Relief

When someone in the house starts sniffling, you just know it’s going to make the rounds. That’s when I reach for this homemade herbal vapor rub—our family’s go-to chest balm for easing congestion, coughs, and that heavy-headed sick feeling.

Made with gentle yet powerful essential oils, this balm works just like the classic Vicks rub (but without the synthetic stuff). It’s safe, effective, and smells like a eucalyptus grove with a hint of grandma’s medicine chest—in the best possible way!

Whether you’re treating a toddler’s sniffles or trying to head off a man cold, this DIY vapor rub will be your winter wellness MVP.

Why You’ll Love This Natural Decongestant Balm

  • No petroleum or nasties – A clean, green homemade Vicks alternative
  • Gentle enough for kids – With optional adjustments for littlies
  • Nourishing balm texture – Melts into skin without being greasy
  • Essential oils – Provide cooling, clearing, and comforting support
  • Customizable – Make it stronger for adults or extra-gentle for babies

Ingredients

Base:

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (or olive oil for a softer balm)
  • 2 tbsp shea butter or mango butter
  • 2 tbsp beeswax pellets

Essential Oil Blend (for adults):

  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
  • 8 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 6 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 4 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 4 drops lavender essential oil

Optional for kids under 5:
Replace eucalyptus and peppermint with fir needle and cedarwood atlas, and halve the total essential oil amount.

How to Make Your Own Vapor Rub

  1. Melt the base:
In a double boiler (or a bowl over simmering water), gently melt the coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax together. Stir until smooth and liquid.
  2. Cool slightly:
Remove from heat and let cool just a few minutes—enough that it’s no longer scalding hot but still liquid.
  3. Add essential oils:
Stir in your essential oil blend. Don’t add them too early or the heat will evaporate their goodness.
  4. Pour into tins or jars:
Carefully pour into a small glass jar or metal balm tin. Let cool completely before putting the lid on.
  5. Label & store:
Store in a cool place away from sunlight. Balm will keep for up to 6 months.

How to Use Your Herbal Chest Rub

  • For chest and back: Rub a small amount onto chest, upper back, and soles of the feet during cold or flu season.
  • For steam relief: Add a pea-sized amount to a bowl of steaming water, cover your head with a towel, and inhale.
  • For headaches: Dab a touch on temples and neck (use caution and avoid eyes).

Mum Tips

  • Patch test first if you’re unsure about sensitivities.
  • Keep a tiny jar in your handbag during winter for on-the-go sniffles.
  • For a nighttime version, add a few drops of Roman chamomile or lavender for extra sleep support.
