Rust-oleum Review – Glitter Shoes

December 16, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

When we were sent a box of Rust-oleum glitter spray paints to try out we were so excited to bling up everything we could find. First we thought of the obvious things like wine bottles, jars and even Christmas candlestick holders. Whilst they are all GREAT ideas we wanted to think outside the box. So the kids and I (School holidays) went rummaging around the house for things that were ugly and in need of a new life and you can read the full post on those items over here on the Home and Garden Blog.

This post is about the things we didn’t have. So I took a trip to the local Big W and found a pair of red flats that were in the discount bin and it might have been the glitter on my hands or the glitter on my iPhone case but suddenly a trip down the yellow brick road came into mind. I sung the tune and raced for the counter dragging my children past the toy section as fast as a mother can and rushed to pay for my $5 shoes (yes $5). I spent the next few hours randomly disappearing out my front door as I went to spray the 4-6 coats (20 mins drying time) on my shoes. I can’t wait to wear these for a Christmas party,  OK any party really I wont need much of an excuse.

I gave it some extra coats of the clear sealer to help with longevity so fingers crossed next time I hit the dance floor I don’t wear out all the magical glitter at once.

From this point on I shall call these my “We’re Not In Kansas Anymore Dancing Shoes”.
