According to this news article, Janelle Norman, started using Eczema steroid cream for a mild case of dry skin and ended up in hospital with peeling skin, yellow oozing abscess all because her body, her skin became addicted to steroid cream. Did you know that Steroid cream could be addictive?
I never thought it could be addictive but I did know it wasn’t right for my family. When my daughter was 2 or 3 she had a rash on her face and was given a steroid cream (can’t recall the name). I used it once or twice but found her mood had changed. When I used the cream she seemed sad, depressed and would just sit around and do nothing. Totally the opposite of my child. I tried to explain it to my doctor but they just looked at me crazy. They thought I should be grateful for some down time. My Mommy instinct kicked in and I told the doctor I would stop using the cream straight away.
(stating the obvious here but always get medical advice before stopping medication)
