Sometimes if you don’t find humour in the drama’s of parenthood then we as parents would not survive. After all laughing releases endorphin’s which are so it’s kinda OK to laugh at their behaviour right? (Warning – Never do this to their face as they will attack).
You might recall my previous article on dealing with back chatting . So I am sure by now you can see where my head space is at and why my new Well being section is currently dominated by parenting and womanhood.
I have a 7 year old who is advanced for her age. So she naturally thinks she should be allowed to drive a car, eat what she wants and when she wants, not get out of bed and of course run my entire household by her own dictatorship.
(OK it’s not really that bad, but I am sure by the time puberty hit it will no longer be an exaggeration. )
This article is very funny and called the Multiple Personalities of Tweens. If you have one of these rare creatures then it’s a must read.
If you still feel like you need to “laugh it off, Laugh it off” then check out this tween drinking game. If she slams a door you have a drink, wine, vodka or coffee.
(Remember to drink responsibly because a hangover with a tantrum throwing tween is truly like fingers down a chalkboard)
OK, now I am off to do some craft so that the tension can flow away…
