Soap on a Stick

June 2, 2007 |

popsiclePopsicles–also known as ice pops or ice lollies, are a favorite summertime treat for children and grown-ups alike. But now you can take these treats into the shower using glycerine soap, inexpensive popsicle molds and wooden popsicle sticks.

Ingredients:
1 pound unscented glycerin soap (cubes will be easier to work with)
1/2 teaspoon essential oil (orange, lemon or lime)
Food coloring or soap chips in orange, yellow or green
6-unit plastic popsicle mold
6-popsicle sticks

Directions:
Put soap in double boiler or microwave until liquefied. Stir in food coloring/soap chips. Add essential oil. Pour soap into molds. Insert popsicle sticks and hold until they remain upright without any support. Let sit for at least three hours, or put them in the freezer for one.

Not up to making your own? You can also buy them already made from Etsy stores Soapylove or Art Spot.
