Have you ever been to a day spa? Before you even kick off your shoes the smell of a good day spa calms your senses. So we can’t always get to a day spa so let’s bring the day spa to us. Eucalyptus showers are trending right now, in fact, eucalyptus plants, decor, and design are trending, so it is no wonder people are inhaling the scent of it too.
The bare basics of creating a Eucalyptus shower is to hang fresh or dried Eucalyptus sprigs from your shower faucet, the steam releases the oils and fills the air with the aroma. In fact, I went into a hotel sauna in Peru and they had the leaves on the floor, it smelled divine.
So why is Eucalyptus so good for the mind and body?
Eucalyptus is widely used as a natural cold remedy and is a common ingredient in cold and cough products. The Eucalyptus oil relieves cold symptoms like nasal congestion, sore throats, and headache by decreasing inflammation and mucus buildup. Those same anti-inflammation traits can help reduce pain too, making it perfect for aching muscles and joints.
Eucalyptus is great for inhaling as well as applying onto the skin. Eucalyptus oil applied to the skin can reduce bacteria in a wound and can even freshen your breath. I love adding Eucalyptus oil directly into my mop water for a fresh-smelling house too. With cold and flu season hitting hard this year, how about making these as gifts to help beat the winter colds for friends and family.
