14 DIY Christmas Sugar Scrubs To Gift This Holiday Season

October 10, 2020 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

Sugar scrubs are a fantastic and easy way to exfoliate your skin and help promote healthy, glowing skin. They work by removing dead skin cells and revealing new skin cells, making them a great addition to any skincare routine. One of the best things about sugar scrubs is that they can easily be customized to fit any skin type or preference, and they make great gifts for friends and family.

With the holiday season upon us, sugar scrubs can be a perfect DIY gift option. Simply layer them in mason jars, add a cute label, and you have a lovely handmade Christmas gift that your loved ones will surely appreciate.

Sugar scrubs can be used all over the body, but the coarser the scrub, the better it is for areas that have tougher skin, such as the feet or elbows. They are also incredibly easy to make, requiring only a few simple pantry staples.

If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to incorporate sugar scrubs into your skincare routine, try making solid sugar scrub bars. These bars are easy to use and can be made in a variety of scents and flavors. To make these bars, simply melt your ingredients together and pour them into a mold. Once they have hardened, you can pick them up and rub them on your skin, allowing them to melt as they come into contact with your body heat.

Here’s a simple recipe for solid sugar scrub bars that you can customize with your favorite essential oils:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup shea butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil (such as lavender, peppermint, or citrus)
Instructions:

Melt the coconut oil and shea butter together in a double boiler or in the microwave.
Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar and essential oil.
Pour the mixture into a silicone mold and let it cool and harden.
Once the bars have hardened, remove them from the mold and store them in an airtight container.
In addition to this recipe, there are countless other sugar scrub recipes that you can try. For example, if you have dry skin, you can add honey and almond oil to your sugar scrub to help moisturize and hydrate your skin. If you have oily skin, you can add tea tree oil to your scrub to help regulate oil production and prevent breakouts.

Ultimately, sugar scrubs are a versatile and fun addition to any skincare routine. They are easy to make, customizable, and make great gifts for any occasion. So why not give them a try and see the difference they can make in your skin?
