Ancient Minerals Review – Ultra Pure Topical Magnesium

August 3, 2011 by Nellie Lee Luhrmann 10 Comments

I was talking to my hippy  friend Paul at my pilates class a few months back about some of the health issues that were bothering me  of late. A big believer in all things natural my ears perked up when Paul informed me that ” it all came down to magnesium”  upon further discussion I was keen to up my magnesium intake especially after I heard it makes you happy & relaxed. ( Paul said I should double my magnesium  since I have kids :0  ) Not really a fan of popping vitamins ( I believe you just wee them out or forget to take them ) I wanted to find another way  to do so. Perusing a health magazine my girlfriend lent me I came across Ancient Minerals.  Ancient Minerals magnesium products offer a convenient form of transdermal magnesium — absorbed through the skin — for those who prefer to avoid the hassle of taking pills and the difficulties inherent with poorly tolerated oral supplements. Ancient Minerals offer a complete line of transdermal magnesium products, ranging from bath salts to their highly concentrated magnesium oil, gel or lotion for sensitive individuals. Made from Genuine Zechstein Magnesium all of Ancient Minerals magnesium supplements are completely free of Mercury, Lead, Arsenic & Fluoride. A superior choice to oral magnesium absorption as they are rapidly absorbed by our largest organ “the skin”

Some benefits of Ancient Minerals topical magnesium:

  • Restores cellular magnesium levels
  • Natural cellular protectant
  • Facilitates safe and effective detoxification
  • Relief of aches, pains, spasms
  • Elevates mood and relieves stress
  • Encourages healthy skin tissue
  • Helps maintain proper muscle function
  • Boosts energy levels
  • Supports a healthy immune system
  • Balances the hormonal system
  • Calms overactive nerves
  • Improves quality of sleep

A big thank you to Ashley from Ancient Minerals for posting out the oil, lotion & gel as well as a clear-out  magnetic clay detox kit for review. I am still doing the detox so today I will write about my life changing experiences whilst using the topical magnesium . I could not think of a better candidate than my entire household to try these products out on. I used the lotion firstly on myself  I found it to be easily absorbed by my skin without leaving a residue behind. There was a slight tingly sensation after I applied it the first few times, I was not put off or alarmed as it stated on the bottle that this can happen to some people (I took it as a sign that it was working ) I rubbed it on my legs, knees and hips. Now that I am 31 I feel like I am slowly falling apart I constantly complain about my aching joints. I will share some personal information with you as to why I benefited so much from Ancient Minerals Topical Magnesium. Last year I was diagnosed with cervical cancer resulting in having to undergo a radical hysterectomy since my operation I have been trying to find some balance Oestrogen wise. Currently on patches I find that some days the pain in my bones is so bad I  cry  ( this is a result of Oestrogen & Vitamin D being too low ) Can you imagine every bone in your body hurting  to the point of keeping you up at night/stopping you from doing things that are normally effortless. That is what it is like for me some days. Every morning after my shower I rub the oil into my knees and the lotion into my hips. I have noticed a drastic reduction in complaints from me. I have started moving faster and even on 2 occasions have gone for a light run. I have not run in over 12 months.  I definitely have more energy and am not waking up with leg cramps at night anymore or suffering from restless legs before I go to sleep. Apparently, I am not so cranky anymore either. As hubby says “Happy Wife – Happy Life”

My elderly Aunt lives in a granny flat up the back, having lived in sunny QLD most of her life I moved her down here to keep an eye on her. Well least to say the weather down here is the total opposite of what she is used to. Being 75 and overweight she suffers from terrible pain in her knees and legs. Her pain has stopped her from doing simple things we take for granted everyday like picking up things and  walking. I rubbed the oil on her legs and knees, the first time she was a bit sceptic ( I think its her age ) and was not convinced it would help her pain. So I just kept applying it daily ignoring her scepticism. A week later I casually ask her how her pain was and low and behold not only did she inform me that her pain had drastically reduced but as a result she had for the first time since her retirement ( 10 years to be exact ) slept through the WHOLE night NO insomnia.

My son H who is nearly 6 suffers from flat feet with a slight pronation resulting in malalignment and muscle tightness.  A toewalker, H has specially made orthotics in his shoes but if he forgets to wear them or has a really active day his muscles ache. H gets night terrors from being overtired and will cry and tell us his legs hurt. I started rubbing the gel on his legs and feet giving him a gentle massage. H has still had the occasional night terror, no where near as distressing as they have been in the past. He has not complained of sore legs and seems slightly happier lately.

I wish I had of known about Ancient Minerals when I was pregnant, all those night with restless legs, muscle aches, spasms & cramps…………….  if your doctor gives you the go ahead I HIGHLY recommend giving it a go.

I have cirrhosis (actually getting living donor transplant from my sis in 8 days) and magnetic clay’s detox is what kept me from needing a transplant for years. And their magnesium is awesome for cramps (and oh soooo many other things, but my big issue is cramps/electrolyte imbalance). However, the magnesium oil spray is a little sticky, I can’t sleep with it on, I have to spray, wait 20min and then either shower or wipe it off. But it’s worth it because so much more can be absorbed through our skin because most people’s gut environment isn’t very healthy and we don’t absorb the nutrients we need…

Thanks! The transplant actually failed but by the grace of God in 4 days I got a 2nd donor liver from a young man that lost his life and in the process blessed me with a 2nd chance, I have two heroes now, my sis and him!

I can’t tell everyone how awesome ancient minerals products are, you really should research them and check out all they have to offer!

I know the importance of supplementing, and get most from pills. Magnesium helps you absorb calcium — good for our bones.

I think magnesium deficiency is a big problem and contributes to some/many of our ills. Thanks for sharing this!! So, you don’t have any residue with these products? I have tried other topicals that do leave a residue, so that is great to know. I know I need more magnesium, even though I take it internally. I have fibromyalgia, tons of pain, insomnia, etc.
Studies in animals have shown that a magnesium deficiency causes a depletion of brain dopamine which is a big factor in ADD. (My son has ADHD and I have been researching this, and have also found magnesium deficiency is a factor in all the depression people suffer with now days.
