Citrus and Charcoal Detox Melt and Pour Soap

January 28, 2026 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

Every now and then I crave a full-body reset—like cleaning out the kitchen pantry but for my skin. This citrus and charcoal soap is my go-to detox bar. It’s bold, it’s fresh, and it has that perfect balance of zingy citrus brightness and deep-cleansing charcoal.

It’s great for back acne, underarm funk, teen BO, or just those sweaty summer days when you want to scrub the stress away. The glycerin base gives it a lovely glassy look, and the swirl of charcoal makes each bar unique.

Benefits of Charcoal & Citrus Soap

  • Activated charcoal draws out dirt, oil, and toxins
  • Citrus oils like grapefruit and orange are naturally antibacterial and refreshing
  • Jojoba oil keeps skin balanced, not stripped
  • Glycerin base gives it a clean, modern look

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • 1 lb clear melt and pour glycerin base
  • 1 tbsp activated charcoal
  • 10 drops grapefruit essential oil
  • 10 drops sweet orange essential oil
  • 1 tsp jojoba or almond oil
  • Soap molds
  • Spray bottle with alcohol

How to Make Citrus Charcoal Swirl Soap

  1. Melt the glycerin soap base and divide into two portions.
  2. Add activated charcoal to one half and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add jojoba oil and essential oils to both portions.
  4. Pour both soaps into the mold at the same time to create a natural swirl effect.
  5. Spritz with rubbing alcohol and let set completely.
  6. Cure for 24 hours before wrapping or using.

Tips for the Best Swirls

  • Pour one base slowly while tilting the mold.
  • Use a skewer or toothpick to gently swirl without overmixing.
  • For a layered look, let one layer set halfway before adding the second.

DIY Christmas Cherry Body Scrub

If you love simple handmade gifts that still feel festive and special, this DIY Christmas Cherry Body Scrub from CraftBits is such a fun little project. It is bright, pretty, and has that sweet cherry scent that makes it feel perfect for Christmas gifting.

What I like about this tutorial is how easy it is to pull together. The scrub uses granulated sugar, sweet almond oil or another carrier oil, red cherry fragrance oil, and a touch of mica powder for color, so it feels like one of those projects you can make quickly but still package up beautifully.

It is the kind of bath and body recipe that works really well for teacher gifts, stocking stuffers, hostess gifts, or just a little festive treat for yourself. The pretty pink-red color and cherry fragrance give it a cheerful Christmas feel without needing anything too complicated.

The tutorial itself is wonderfully straightforward too. You simply combine the ingredients well and store the finished scrub in an airtight container, which makes this a lovely beginner-friendly project for holiday crafting.

If you are looking for a quick Christmas body scrub recipe that feels handmade, giftable, and easy to recreate, this one is a sweet little pick.
