Lush-Inspired Yoga Bomb Room Spray (DIY Dupe)

January 23, 2026 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

There’s something magical about walking into a room and being wrapped in the scent of calm. Not lavender-overload or synthetic clean—but a real, earthy, spa-like aroma that feels like it’s grounding your soul from the ankles up. If you’ve ever dropped a Yoga Bomb bath bomb into the tub from Lush, you know the scent I’m talking about. That warm, woodsy, gently spicy fragrance that feels like incense and forest therapy had a baby. It’s comfort. It’s mindfulness. It’s the vibe of a good exhale.

But what if you could bottle up that Lush Yoga Bomb scent—and spritz it anywhere?
Your bedroom. Your car. Your craft room sanctuary.
Well, you can. And this DIY Lush Yoga Bomb Dupe Room Spray recipe is the closest thing to replicating that iconic fragrance, without the price tag or the trip to the shops.

As a busy mum of teens with a house that swings between chaos and coziness depending on the hour (and Aloo barking at birds), I love having this spray tucked in a drawer. A few spritzes and my space feels reset—like a mini-meditation in a bottle. It’s also an absolute winner for guest rooms, bathrooms, or anywhere you want a calm, grounded scent without it being too perfume-y.

This easy-to-make essential oil spray takes less than 10 minutes to pull together and lasts for weeks. And best of all? It’s completely natural—no synthetic fragrances, no weird chemicals, just pure essential oils and a little DIY love.

Let’s make it!

Ingredients (for a 100ml spray bottle)

  • ¾ cup (180ml) distilled water – filtered water works too

  • 2 tbsp vodka – helps preserve and blend oils
(or use witch hazel for a gentler scent)

  • 12 drops Sandalwood essential oil – grounding and creamy

  • 8 drops Patchouli essential oil – deep, musky, earthy

  • 6 drops Cassia essential oil – warm cinnamon spice

  • 6 drops Ho Wood essential oil – soft floral woodiness

  • 4 drops Elemi essential oil – resinous, lemony, calming

  • 3 drops Frankincense essential oil – smoky and sacred

  • 2 drops Bergamot essential oil (optional) – for a light citrus lift

 How to Make It

  1. Sterilize your spray bottle with hot soapy water, rinse, and let dry.

  2. In a small mixing bowl or glass measuring jug, combine your vodka (or witch hazel) and all essential oils. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes to let the scent blend (this makes a huge difference).

  3. Pour this essential oil mix into your spray bottle.

  4. Top up with distilled water until it’s just full.

  5. Cap, shake gently, and label it (you’ll want to remember what’s inside!).

How to Use Your Yoga Bomb Spray

  • Spritz in your bedroom before sleep to wind down

  • Use it after a yoga or meditation session for a grounding boost

  • Freshen up bathrooms, guest rooms, or even your car

  • Mist on fabrics, craft spaces, or inside dresser drawers (test on delicate linens first!)

Note: Always shake before use—natural oils separate over time.

Optional Extras to Personalize Your Spray

  • Add mica powder – gold or bronze shimmer makes it extra magical

  • Pop in crystal chips – like amethyst or clear quartz for those good vibes

  • Add Solubol or polysorbate 20 – if you want a fully blended (non-separating) spray

  • Print a custom label – or handwrite something fun like “Zen in a Bottle” or “Yoga Bomb Bliss”

 Why This Scent Works

Each oil in this blend brings more than just fragrance—it brings feeling.

  • Patchouli helps anchor your senses when life feels too fast.

  • Sandalwood is like a meditative pause button in scent form.

  • Cassia and Elemi give it warmth and sweetness without being too “spicy.”

  • Frankincense and Ho Wood add depth, like the quiet calm after a long walk in the bush.

It’s no wonder Lush’s Yoga Bomb became a cult classic—this blend just works. And now, you’ve got the dupe for your everyday life.

Homemade room sprays like this are such a beautiful way to reclaim your space and your senses—especially when life’s a little wild (or your house smells like wet dog, soccer boots, or burnt toast). I keep one of these sprays in my craft drawer, one in the bathroom, and one tucked in the car for whenever I need a quick reset. It’s grounding, it’s luxurious, and it costs less than your takeaway chai.
