If you spent a little bit too much time out in the sun at a 4th of July BBQ yesterday, try this simple cooling peppermint sunburn lotion recipe from Bath and Body Recipes to help soothe your skin.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. witch hazel
1/2 cup baking soda
1-2 drops peppermint oil
Mix all ingredients together to form a thin, milky mixture. Shake well. Makes 3 1/2 oz.
To use: gently apply to sunburned skin and allow to dry. Re-apply, if necessary.

I got really bad sun burn 6 months ago in Florida and I used the Aloe & Jojoba Nut Therapy (from the MADE FROM EARTH skincare line). It TOTALLY treated my sunburn…it saved me!!
Only a small amount is recommended to be applied twice a day and its hypoallergenic so no perfumes or colorants.
Really decreased the pain of the burn – stopped me from peeling and even left me with a nice color. . .no i use all the time as an “after sun” cream….love it!
