DIY Almond Honey Goat’s Milk Soap

August 16, 2013 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

A Skin-Loving Bar That Smells Like Sweet Heaven

If your skin’s been feeling a bit cranky lately—dry, itchy, or just tired of commercial nasties—this soothing Almond Honey Goat’s Milk Soap might just be your new best friend. It’s creamy, dreamy, and ridiculously easy to make, even if you’ve never lifted a soap mold in your life. Bonus: it smells like warm cookies straight from a country kitchen.

Goat’s milk soap is famous for being gentle, nourishing, and full of natural fats and proteins that pamper sensitive or mature skin. Add in hydrating honey and a hint of almond oil, and you’ve got yourself a bar that’ll have your skin sighing in relief. This one’s a crowd-pleaser—perfect for holiday gifts, guest bathrooms, or just treating your tired mum-hands.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Soothing and moisturizing for dry, sensitive, or aging skin
  • Naturally creamy with goat’s milk melt-and-pour base
  • Only 4 ingredients—no lye, no fuss
  • Smells divine thanks to almond oil and raw honey
  • Beautiful natural look—especially lovely in rustic or floral molds

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Goat’s Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base
  • 2 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil
  • 1 tbsp Raw Honey
  • 10–15 drops Almond Essential Oil or Fragrance Oil (optional but recommended)

Optional Add-ins:

  • Ground oats for gentle exfoliation
  • A sprinkle of dried chamomile or calendula
  • A dash of mica powder or gold dust if you’re feeling fancy

Supplies

  • Microwave-safe jug or double boiler
  • Soap mold (silicone is easiest for beginners)
  • Stirring spoon or spatula
  • Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol (helps remove bubbles)

Instructions

Step 1: Chop & Melt

Chop the goat’s milk soap base into small cubes so it melts evenly. Place it in a microwave-safe jug and heat in 30-second bursts, stirring each time, until fully melted. Alternatively, melt it slowly in a double boiler on the stovetop.

Mum Tip: Don’t overheat—soap base hates boiling and will throw a tantrum (aka turn grainy).

Step 2: Add the Good Stuff

Stir in the almond oil, raw honey, and almond essential oil. Mix gently but thoroughly so the honey doesn’t sink straight to the bottom.

If you’re adding oats or dried flowers, now’s the time to sprinkle them in. Go slow—you’re not making a granola bar.

Step 3: Pour & Spritz

Pour the melted soap into your mold of choice. Lightly spray the top with rubbing alcohol to zap away any bubbles.

Optional: Sprinkle a little crushed oatmeal or dried petals on top for that “I-made-this-with-love” artisan look.

Step 4: Let It Set

Leave the soap to set for at least 2–4 hours, or until completely firm. Pop it out of the mold and let it breathe for 24 hours before wrapping or using.

Storage Tips

Wrap in parchment paper or shrink wrap to keep it fresh. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 6–12 months for the best scent and lather.

Gifting Idea

Wrap each bar in kraft paper and tie with twine. Add a dried flower or honeybee charm and a little tag that reads:
“Made with sweet almond hugs & a drizzle of honey.”
Perfect for teacher gifts, thank-you baskets, or just-because moments.

This DIY Almond Honey Goat’s Milk Soap is proof that simple ingredients can feel downright luxurious. No lye, no stress—just sweet, creamy goodness that gives your skin a gentle kiss of moisture every time you wash. Whether you’re soothing winter skin or just craving a little homespun pampering, this bar is a must-make.

The Goat’s milk in this DIY Goat’s Milk Chapstick recipe will leave your lips soft and smooth.  The PH Level in goat’s milk is super skin-friendly and the lactic acid helps remove dead skin cells from your lips for a soft and brighter smile. The ingredients are so basic for making this lip balm you will be surprised, you may even have the chapstick ingredients in your fridge or pantry.
