From A Luxe Moisturiser Into A Beautiful Tan – Eco Tan Invisible Tan – Review

 No matter what time of the year it is we all like to have a healthy glow about our skin. Many people shy away from hanging out at solariums ( YUCK ) and lounging by the pool for hours. I don’t blame them really not only does excessive sun age you but it can lead to a more serious problem such as skin cancer. There are alternatives out there, you can book in for a spray tan but who has the time these days. Who knows what is in half of the spray tans available on the market today. You can try and make your own but it’s just not the same. I have had a few spray tans from a beautician who did it from the comfort of her own garage. Not only was it quite expensive but it limited my activities for at least 12 hours. Laying on the couch on a cotton sheet in my underpants in the quest to stop my tan from rubbing off onto my clothes is not my idea of a good time so I learnt to that accept I was not going to have that summer glow ever!! I don’t have to worry about  that anymore thanks to Eco Tan. Who/what is Eco Tan???  Eco Tan is Australia’s only organic self tanner certified by the OFC. I had never heard of organic self tanner before and for good reason I don’t think they have really existed in the past. I am white and I mean lily white I went through a very brief period of smothering myself in coconut oil and laying in the sun in my very early twenties until  this happened  No good can come from that. I remember my first self tanning experience. I was 11 and it was January 1991, how do I remember the year and the month you ask it is because the incident put me off any self tanner until about a 15 years later ( for my wedding ) I only did my face, the end result was white arms and legs and a BRIGHT ORANGE face not a good look especially if your trying to impress a boy you liked ……… Epic fail ( he wasn’t worth it anyway ) Ok so back to Eco Tan looking on their website I was very impressed as soon as I clicked on their ingredients first thing I see is ‘Truth Within Labels’ please beware of misleading claims! Look beyond the fancy marketing and Google the name of the ingredients on your labels……. bet your bottom dollar I did just that. 15 ingredients in total all of which I am cool with.

First thing I have to say is even if you would never go down the self tanning route, the least you can do is treat yourself to a Tan Away glove purely for in house exfoliation purposes. When I exfoliate with the standard glove from woolies I look red raw, who wants to look like that if they are heading out the door? No thanks I am already white I don’t need to look mottled as well. The Tan Away Glove is fabulous you can use it wet or dry and there is no need to go nuts and scrub like a madwoman a light circular motion is all it takes to get the job done ( more efficiently too ) I was sold purely by the glove before I even opened my tube of Eco Tan Invisible Tan. Important points to mention about Invisible Tan, this is how the cookie crumbles. I  woke up, exfoliated, showered  than applied Invisible Tan because it is exactly like a moisturiser it goes on clear and it has no offensive odour just a soft note of rose flower oil. It is so nourishing yet non greasy it dries instantly,  I thought I would struggle to apply it evenly because A. I am hopeless and B. I could not see it. But you know what I could feel it, my skin was so soft where I had applied it so I simply rubbed it into the areas that I could blatantly tell I had missed. You have to  leave it on for a minimum of 8 hours before showering but who takes 2 showers within that kind of time frame? Alternatively you can do it at night, before you go to bed because it does not stain your sheets ( I have white sheets ) or your clothes for that matter ( no more laying in my undies in front of the fan trying to stop myself from sweating ) it also continues developing for up to 24 hours. You get many part applications or up to 3 whole body applications and at $34.95 a tube what’s not to like about it? Oh and the tan is even, no funny looking knees or elbows ( I always laugh when I see people sporting that look ) and you can apply it to your face resulting in a beautiful rich honey tan not this  Sorry love but you look like you need all the help you can get and when I say all, I mean ALL 🙂  Apply it in the morning( reapplied up to 2-3 times a week )  and by 5pm you are ready for drinks with the girls ( or boys ) it’s a win win situation really.
