How To Make Your Own Dehydrated Orange Powder For Soap Making

March 7, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

Oranges are a popular fruit around the world, prized for their tangy, sweet taste and refreshing juice. However, did you know that you can also use the peel of oranges in your soap making? Dehydrated orange powder is a versatile and fragrant addition to any soap recipe, and is easy to make at home. In this article, we will explore how to make dehydrated orange powder and how to use it in your soap making.

Making dehydrated orange powder is a simple process that requires only a few ingredients and tools. You will need fresh oranges, a dehydrator, and a blender or food processor. Here are the steps to make your own dehydrated orange powder:

Wash the oranges thoroughly and dry them with a towel.

Use a sharp knife to carefully peel the oranges, making sure to remove as much of the white pith as possible. The pith can be bitter and can affect the final taste and fragrance of the orange powder.

Cut the orange peels into small pieces.

Place the orange pieces on the dehydrator trays and set the temperature to 135°F (57°C). Leave the orange peels in the dehydrator for 8-10 hours, or until they are completely dry and brittle.

Once the orange peels are fully dehydrated, place them in a blender or food processor and blend them until they become a fine powder.

Store the orange powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Now that you have your own dehydrated orange powder, it’s time to put it to use in your soap making. Orange powder is a great addition to any soap recipe, as it adds a natural orange fragrance and color. Here are some soap recipes that use dehydrated orange powder:
