Anxiety is your body’s natural response to stress. Anxiety can be normal in stressful situations such as public speaking or taking a test. Anxiety is only an indicator of underlying disease when feelings become excessive, all-consuming, and interfere with daily living, if you feel your anxiety is taking over your life then seek medical help. Here is my top list of tips for dealing with your anxiety.
Keep physically active, remember the old saying, healthy body healthy mind?
Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs, whilst these make us feel “UP” sometimes the crash back down can be far worse and trigger anxiety.
Use stress management and relaxation techniques, I don’t think one thing is a cureall, so create a healthier lifestyle, try a few different things, yoga, meditation, 10 mins of screen-free a day, sit idle and look out at a view, no need to “DO” anything.
Make sleep a priority. Like a baby, when it doesn’t sleep it is cranky and unreasonable. Anxiety increases when we are tired and unable to cope with things due to fatigue.
Eat healthy foods, not every day, but most days.
