DIY Cooling Bath Soak for Perimenopause Relief

October 25, 2025 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

Hot flashes, night sweats, bloating, mood swings, and that indescribable feeling of crawling out of your own skin… sound familiar? If you’re in your 40s or 50s and navigating the rocky waters of perimenopause, you’re not alone—and you’re definitely not imagining it. This transition phase before menopause can last years, and let’s just say the hormonal rollercoaster isn’t exactly gentle.

But here’s the good news: with the right natural remedies and a bit of self-care, you can start to feel like yourself again. That’s where this DIY Cooling Bath Soak for Perimenopause Relief comes in.

This homemade bath soak is designed especially for women experiencing hot flashes, menopausal night sweats, and hormonal skin sensitivity. It’s packed with magnesium-rich Epsom salts, skin-soothing botanicals, and the superstar of this recipe—Me-No-Pause Essential Oil Blend by Edens Garden. This essential oil blend combines powerhouse ingredients like clary sage, peppermint, and geranium to naturally support your endocrine system and help your body rebalance.

A warm (but not too hot!) bath infused with these calming, hormone-friendly ingredients can do wonders for stress relief, cooling the body, and giving you a moment of peace in the chaos of hormonal shifts. Whether you’re battling insomnia, irritability, or just need a break from feeling like a human furnace, this soak is a soothing ritual you’ll actually look forward to.

Ready to reclaim your bath time? Let’s make something beautiful and healing—because your body deserves a little extra TLC right now.

 Ingredients

  • 1 cup Epsom salts
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup pink Himalayan salt or sea salt
  • 10–12 drops Me-No-Pause Essential Oil Blend
  • 1 tbsp carrier oil (jojoba or fractionated coconut work well)
  • 1 tbsp dried peppermint or rose petals (optional, for visual + skin soothing)
  • Glass jar or airtight container for storage

 How to Make It

  1. Mix Your Base
In a large glass bowl, combine the Epsom salts, baking soda, and Himalayan salt. Stir until well blended. This combo helps relax muscles, replenish magnesium, and soften skin—yes please!
  2. Add Botanicals (Optional)
Sprinkle in your dried petals or herbs if you’d like to give the soak a little flower power. I use dried peppermint in summer and rose petals in winter. Totally optional, but very fancy-feeling.
  3. Blend the Oils
In a small bowl, mix your carrier oil with 10–12 drops of Me-No-Pause blend. This helps dilute the essential oils and makes them safer for soaking. Pour this mixture over your salts and stir well to combine.
  4. Store It or Use It Now
Transfer the mix to a pretty glass jar with a tight lid. Label it something cheeky like “Cooling Mama Mix” or “Hot Flash Extinguisher.” You’ll thank yourself later.

How to Use

Fill your bathtub with lukewarm or cool water. Trust me—cool baths are a game-changer during hormone swings.

  • Add ½ to 1 cup of your soak mix to the running water.
  • Swish the water to help dissolve the salts and oils.
  • Soak for 20–30 minutes in peace and quiet. (Or with spa music and a locked bathroom door.)

Pro tip: Keep a cool damp washcloth nearby to lay over your chest or forehead if you’re extra warm.

I started making this soak after a particularly grumpy night where everything—my skin, my sleep, and my nerves—felt off. A quick soak with this blend, and I was noticeably calmer and less puffy. My husband even asked if I’d meditated. Nope—just magnesium, peppermint, and a bit of hormone magic.
