Avado Organics – Sensitives Review

April 19, 2011 by Nellie Lee Luhrmann Leave a Comment

The idea for Avado Organics came about when Tammy Fenner had her second child Lucy. Lucy had extremely sensitive skin and was prone to breakouts of eczema. All the products Tammy tried at the time would dry her skin out even more. On impulse one evening Tammy added some avocado oil to Lucy’s bath (at the time the avocado oil was being bottled and sold at her mother’s property on Mount Tambourine). The oil worked wonders’ there was reduced redness, much less scratching and a peaceful night for everyone!

Over the next few nights the redness and dry patches virtually disappeared. Tammy wanted to share her discovery (knowing how harrowing a child’s sensitivity and scratching can be) and so the idea to create a unique range of products using Avocado Oil as the base was born.

It took a couple of years of testing, developing and refining. Tammy’s children became her test lab guinea pigs with Lucy the ultimate guinea pig, and not always enjoying the experience.

Skip forward a few years Lucy and Tammy’s other two children Jessica and Emma love the products and use them every day.

Avado Organics proudly  Australian Made, specialises  in Skin Care, Baby and New Mother products.  Avado Organics promises you, the consumer to use in all of there products  – Organic natural ingredients ideal for people who suffer from eczema of highly sensitive skin. NO synthetic chemicals, NO artificial colours, NO artificial fragrances, NO sulphates, NO parabens and absolutely NO animal testing.

I have thanks to Gregory  Ferrett Avado Blogger @ Avado Organics  trialled the following products. Thanks  again for the opportunity Greg 🙂

Avado Sensitives – Body Lotion

Using only pure ingredients and enriched with Organic Avocado Oil, Avado body lotion offers powerful skin hydrators in one unique all purpose blend formulated for dry and sensitive skin types.Specially formulated to smooth and nourish the skin.

This easily absorbed cream was a delight on my skin I suffer from horrid “croc legs” in the colder months. I hate oily residue, my skin literally drank up all of this cream leaving my legs soft with NO residue. It smells divine ( Lavender, Ylang Ylang & Rosemary Essential Oils with a hint of Green Tea Extract ) If you suffer from very sensitive skin I would recommend this product as it has Calendula & Chamomile  extracts which in my experience are fantastic for soothing skin flare ups. I also really liked that the all natural scent is so light that it does not clash with perfume I would  even go as far to say that I like the smell so much if it came in a perfume I would indeed buy it. Theres an idea Tammy 🙂

Avado Sensitives – Organic Cleanser

Avado Sensitives cleanser is ideal for those suffering from sensitive dry skin. Rich in certified organic ingredients such as Calendula, Neroli and Aloe vera, this gentle cleanser will wash away makeup and the day’s build up of dirt and oil leaving your skin feeling refreshed and revitalised. With added Certified Organic Avocado Oil it will keep the skin hydrated and moisturised.

Having never used a “gel” cleanser I was excited to try this product. I found it cleansed my face efficiently without overly stripping my face of it’s natural oils. The smell is again quite  pleasant , uplifting even ( Orange, Geranium, Petitgrain and Roman Chamomile Essential Oils )   a little went a long way. This cleanser is suitable for dry sensitive skin, I would recommend it for teens ( get them started on a chemical free regime ) as well. Calendula, Neroli and Aloe Extracts are great for soothing irritated skin. If you are having trouble finding a cleanser if you suffer from eczema or highly sensitive skin give this one a try.

Avado Sensitives – Organic Gel Exfoliant

Avado Sensitives gel exfoliant is ideal for those suffering from sensitive dry skin. Using certified organic ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Neroli, Lemon essential oil and naturally ground bamboo, this non abrasive blend will gently remove dead skin cells leaving your skin refreshed and silky. With added Certified Organic Avocado Oil it will keep the skin hydrated and moisturised.

If you are unfortunate enough to suffer from eczema or highly sensitive inflamed skin the last  thing you would even dream of doing is exfoliating.  Not so with Avado’s Organic gel exfoliant it is worth trying if you have been scared to exfoliate because of this. The  ground bamboo  and lemon blend  are so non abrasive you will come out the other end smiling. Gentle enough to use every day you will have  clean, hydrated  smooth skin. A slight tingle as you do so ( not in a bad way though Lemon Essential Oil does that to me, gets my circulation going and I love it ) I would again get some for your teen Bergamot Orange & Lemon Essential Oils are fantastic for lifting the spirits if feeling a bit “blue” as well as unblocking the skin leaving you feeling radiant.

Avado is in a very reasonable price bracket too. Some of the leading cleansers and exfoliants on the market that are riddled with all of the nasties Avado promise to NEVER USE cost more than Avado.

You can purchase Avado direct here or check out your local Priceline, Coles Pharmacy  or Health Food Store. Avado is available in not only Australia but also India, China, UK, Hong Kong & the  US. Alternatively you can click here to get more details of where you can get your hands on some for yourself.
